Harvest Moon Festival

In ancient times, the Imperial Court dedicated rice fields to this shrine as "mitoshiro" fields for the spirits of the gods, and during the Heian period, a rite of mitoshiro was held in which performing arts such as gagaku and kagura were dedicated to pray for bountiful harvests and peace throughout the world. After this Shinto ritual, people can enjoy the harvest moon while listening to the tunes of orchestral music.
