Setsubun Day in 2025 falls on February 2nd. At Shimogamo Shrine, a World Heritage Site, a traditional Setsubun event for bringing good luck and warding off misfortune has been held since ancient times. The Setsubun Festival is held in front of the main shrine in the morning. This is followed by the ritual of burning ancient talismans, and the Oinayumi ritual in the dance hall. In the afternoon, there is bean-throwing, followed by the Omishin ritual.
